My laptop's power button's LED turns orange whenever I'm playing a game; why?
The title says it all; the LED on the power button of my laptop turns orange while I'm playing a game (it's otherwise blue).

I've noticed it used to flash on and off until I set the nVidia control panel to always use the card for the games I've got installed, so I'm thinking it might have something to do with which graphics chipset it's using, but I'm not sure (I can't find anything about it in the instruction manual or by googling).

Intel Core i7 4810MQ

That is entirely normal. That is to let you know whether your laptop is using the low power (blue for cool) Intel integrated graphics or faster (amber for hotter) Nvidia graphics (in case you cannot tell by your laptop running warmer and fan running more). Same power LED colors are used for my MSI gaming laptop.

Oh, that's a load off. I was worried it was a warning light or something.

i understand you made this 2 years ago but i also have an msi laptop and i was wondering about the second fan doesnt run (I assume it runs when using the gpu on a game for example)

I am late for your reply. :P I just got an MSI, so I guess depending on model the second fan doesn't go on unless at a certain temperature, I think. I know on my MSI laptop beside the power button there is a button to turn on this fan second fan. I am not sure if it's a manual only second fan or the second fan is a manual and automatically comes on.

Do you have an on/off button for the fan beside the power button?
