Upgrade graphics card for a HP envy 700? need help
Hey, so I am pretty new to PC gaming, I play/ed console alot but PC is showing to be way more fun. Anyways I have a pretty bad system, its not meant for gaming at all and the first thing I plan to upgrade is the graphics card as the computer has 12GB of ram. I have looked around at some top lists but they all differ so much I don't know what to believe I want some personal suggestions. Thanks!

For Graphics card upgrade you most likely need to upgrade psu too as it seems those "envies" have 460w psu as standard (and most oem psu's aren't good quality). 500-600w guality psu would be ideal.

For graphics card depending on how much you want to spend:
Gtx970 is best price/perf card in high end now
for lower budget but still capable cards
r9 280(x) or Gtx 760/ 770

You may want to keep your eyes open for Gtx780/780Ti (last gen top gaming cards from nvidia) and r9 290/290x (AMD's high end) for good offers as they all are very capable cards (very near or even over Gtx970 performance; consume more power though).

CPU and RAM are good, all you really need is better graphics card and PSU.

Or GTX 760 if you cant afford GTX 970.

I would not start messing with R9 cards with this case, higher end AMD cards generate more heat and need bigger PSU.
