Intel HD screen outside bounds of monitor!?
Someone asked me for help with a problematic laptop. The right and bottom edges of the screen are out of bounds and as such the start menu bar isn't apparent and mouse can travel outside of the screen. The temporary fix was setting it from it's native resolution of 1920x1080 to 1280x720 and setting it to 'center' the panel rather than stretch to fit. This placed the 720 box against the bottom right edge where it 'thinks' center is.

There is not an external display attached.
We have completely uninstalled and reinstalled drivers.
We updated to a new BIOS that also included a new VBIOS.

The worriesome issue is, that the problem exists outside of windows and inside the BIOS itself. We flashed to a new bios and it is set at default. This leads me to believe it is hardware failure. Any one have any suggestions here? The laptop is outside of it's warranty period.

is there a screen resize option in the intel hd settings?
if it exists, resize horizontal and vertical screen.
Look for under scan in graphics settings that's what it's called for amd catalyst.
Post the make and model of laptop.
are you using the notebook screen or an external tv/monitor?

if external, how is it connected and what brand/model monitor is it?

Thanks for all the replies guys, and the model is HP G7-1150US. There are no options to resize the screen, that I've been able to find anyway.

GPU scaling isn't available. The only options you get for scaling are Stretch to Fit(only available in a resolution lower than 1920x1080), Maintain Panel scaling(on by default and unable to disable), and Center Screen(also only available if lower than native resolution of 1920x1080.) I've messed with all of these options trying to just make it work with any resolution and other than 'centering' a very small resolution size, the rest are stretched out of the screen.
