Processor Comparability

Alright so I want to go from a dual core to a quad core and I'm curious as to whether or not my motherboard is compatible with the one I want to get.

I have an HP Compaq 6000 Pro SFF, yes I know it sucks but it was free, and when I look up the specs on the HP website, it gives a massive list of product features. I'm assuming since it lists multiple Intel Core 2 Quad processors in the prodect features that they are compatible with my motherboard since the motherboard is still stock.

I'm mildly knowledgable on some computer things but hardware compatability is not one of them. I'd be thankful if someone could tell me if my PC can use a quad core processor.

Waste of money to upgrade this though. Extra slim case so you never get good enough PSU and graphics card in there to make a difference in games.

Probably should have mentioned that I don't really care if it's worth it to anyone on here. I mostly only play older games with very few new games, mostly MMOs, sprinkled in. I don't really plan on playing brand new games, that's what I have a console for. My PC is mostly for older, classic games, and emulation. I just want a faster processor and if those are compatible, it's fairly cheap to buy one.
