Can My PC Run Assassin's Creed Unity?
Hi All,

My wife bought me Assassin's Creed Unity for Christmas. However, even on low settings, it's very laggy. Suggestions on what I should do? Upgrade or otherwise?

Current System:
Intel i7-860 2.8 GHz (Overclocked to over 3 GHz)
8 GB Ram
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 480
Windows 8.1 64-bit

Also, if I upgrade my graphics card, can it be done without bottle-necking my PC?

cpu ok
i7 860 (quad+ht) 3ghz is close enough to work

gpu will be fine
gtx 480 was a high end card, still comparable to a 670


and ubis reqs are insane for the game
they want it to run at 1920x1080@60fps and ported the code very poorly
so it needs much better hardware than consoles to run
(console ver run it at 900p 30fps)

you may need to lower settings to keep it at 60fps but it will run fine

With the latest patches you might be able to run it, I wouldn't bother. Even after Patch 4 game still runs poorly.

I saw the min. requirements before I posted and can't believe they're so insane. Guess I'll have to deal with low settings unless I upgrade.

Nvidia GTX 970, then upgrade the CPU at a later stage. What generation motherboard?

As for the game, AC: Unity is unfortunately a badly coded console port. It was capped to 920p and 30FPS due to the limitation of console, and never improved on the PC. It's not optimized and glitchy as. It's mostly the games issue rather than the hardware.
