cat5e is cheap, you can get 100ft from a hardware store for around $20
crimper for $15-30
box of ends for around $10
if you need wall paltes, toolles keystone jack and plate will be around $5 each
or spend around $35 for an intel pci-e card
When I did tests on Xbox360 and PS3 via CAT5e Wire, even that was way off.
Our ISP was 120down/20up and the consoles would only ever report around 25down at best. Again that was on Wired, so WiFi was always a little lower.
For PC, yes get a better WiFi device. What wireless modes does the ISP Modem+Router support? If supports AC then u could get much faster/stable speeds as that would be on 5Ghz instead of 2.4Ghz. If all u can do is up to Wireless N, that should be fine too, but again depends on what the Router and WiFi devices all support.
Realtek is really crappy WiFi chipset, go with Intel PCI-E card if u can.
