Good Internet, Trash Wireless speed, HALP
Just bought my first PC (hooray) been console gamer for 8+ years and finally made the switch. everything is all fine with my pre built iBuyPower PC. but the problem. i have FiOS Quantum and on my "family"computer i get fast connection 60 down 40 up(plugged directly into router). but my PC is connecting wirelessly with a built in Realtek wireless adapter and my downloads on steam are less than 1mb/s and it takes 4+ hours to download 4GB games like CS:GO. is just the cheap wireless adapter or another problem?

run a wire

cat5e is cheap, you can get 100ft from a hardware store for around $20
crimper for $15-30
box of ends for around $10
if you need wall paltes, toolles keystone jack and plate will be around $5 each

or spend around $35 for an intel pci-e card

A wire would be a hassle, im downstairs router is upstairs with other computer. would a motem with the computer solve the issue? or is it that cheap wifi adapter built in the problem? when i played wireless on Xbox One, i ran speed tests from the xbox and i was getting 20 down 14 up, so whats the problem??? =(((((((((((((

Consoles are never accurate either; even on a wire.
When I did tests on Xbox360 and PS3 via CAT5e Wire, even that was way off.
Our ISP was 120down/20up and the consoles would only ever report around 25down at best. Again that was on Wired, so WiFi was always a little lower.

For PC, yes get a better WiFi device. What wireless modes does the ISP Modem+Router support? If supports AC then u could get much faster/stable speeds as that would be on 5Ghz instead of 2.4Ghz. If all u can do is up to Wireless N, that should be fine too, but again depends on what the Router and WiFi devices all support.

Realtek is really crappy WiFi chipset, go with Intel PCI-E card if u can.

you can get plug sockets that run the connection throught your internal wiring , essentally making any plug socket a lan socket

Change the 'wireless channel' within your router page settings. Test out which channel allows your WiFi to run with less interference.
