What type of network card are you using?
If you have a Killer Gaming Ethernet Network card or another special type, you have to install it's own drivers to correctly function, such as...

What kind of firewall are you using? These inject a service inbetween which can also upset your network.
Try flush your net settings under the ipconfig (/release then /renew and/or /flushdns) command prompt or reset TCP/IP using the NetShell utility:

If the other PC on the network is Vista - just wait for ages, it's a stupid glitch which fixes itself over time. In that case, you actually do nothing except for use the PC and restart every now and then, it can take days but suddenly Vista gets the hint and magically works. It is one of the worst bugs in networking history - nothing you do will fix it faster.
I solved the problem by installing "Connectify" software since it was on 80% discount and i gave it a shot, so it shared my internet and i can access other pc on lan but the unidentified network is still there, i dont mind it as long as file transfer and internet sharing works.
Thanks for help.
with ur above solution laptop need to be on everytime it try go on the net
Hi i posted topic above from my girlfriends account.
The thing is that i dont have access to router since it is managed by the building owner.
this is how i use it: LAPTOP-->ROUTER via WIFI, then PC-->LAPTOP via LAN.
I use to have wireless card in my PC too, but the problem is that the internet client can be used on only one computer at at time, so if one connects other disconnects.
but if he is your isp = bought / part of ur network in building /
if any rj45 port on it 1 then you can set a own switch in port and laptop connect throgh that device and registrate that switch device on that router first... because atm... the laptop is allready allowed to get through that router...i hope i have this explan this good enough, i work with such so it easy for me to understand, but then i cant see gear then i can only see my choise/solutions
the tricks here is if any login place with laptop at router config manager page if u have such..add mac adr.. from switch first then u can use it....
if u have none of this ...and only wifi...sounds odd...everything u send through air is not as safe as cable...not many know this...( all what u yell in air ..code or not...is still in the air )
hope u know what u are doing :D
other neat tricks is buy own wireless router with ports that connect to other wireless router ...
some wirelees router even has 2 wireless as a solution so it be a double solution
this solution can even with switch ...have multi device on them as long bandwide is enough to what u are doing...... and no you dont get more just beacue u have more device
and then u move u allways have a ectra device to something ...to other place as backup to kid room or remote solution at a place ...even help a friend with solutions...
you need to turn on the network connection sharing, and enable the dhcp server to assign the other pc an ip address and forward dns requests ect..
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/using-internet-connection-sharing#1TC=windows-7
with 2 pcs and no hub, you will need a crossover network cable
some pcs have mdi/mdix ports that will not require a crossover cable
i will unsubcribe from discussion..gl with it...
