Looking to stream my Wii U to my PC (possibly wirelessly). Options?
I've recently taken up livestreaming cuz I figure "why not?"
Now currently I have a 25 foot HDMI canle running from my computer around the edge of the room to my TV. (I play everything on my TV these days)
My game consoles are under the TV, hooked up the way most people would have them hooked up.
Now with the new Smash Bros. game coming out next month, I'd like to be streaming it since I intend to play the ♥♥♥♥ out of it. I've been looking into capture cards such as the Hauppauge PVR 2 and Elgato, but it seems they all require a USB connection to PC. Given the distance between my devices I'm thinking these aren't a viable option.
So does anyone know of a good capture device that Icould stream my media to my wi-fi network and then I broadcast from PC?
Or should I try and find a 25 foot USB cable? (also could I expect issues with such a long USB cable?)

I don't believe that there are any that work via WiFi or any other wireless signal but I do know that there are some that can store video footage onexternal storage options.

using a hdmi capture card, and wmc, it could be possible

usb 2.0 capture devices will be way too slow and use a ton of compression and be very lossy

a pci-e card can do the job, but will take a good pc to be able to capture/compress/stream the video
wireless may also be an issue, streaming 1080p via wireless g or n150 will look horrble
n600+ may do the job, but it would be best to use a gigabit lan config to stream

You'd better check if you're allowed to stream nintendo games. youtubers were forced to give half their profits to nintendon't.

I've seen those too, but that kinda defeats the "live" part of "livestreaming"... Though I'd keep it in mind if I decided to do only youtube vids.

PCI-e wouldn't be an option since this comp only has 1 pci-e slot. (this is what I get for not custom building this one)
Also 720p not 1080. I don't stream to twitch in 1080, especially when playing online games.
And I can Stream 1080p movies from my computer (which is hardlined) to wireless devices all over the house and it looks just fine. So I wouldn't expect the reverse to be any different, though still I'll only be wanting 720p.
Oh and you mention USB 2.0 cards being lossy and slow, but literally every capture card out there for consoles seems to be USB only, and I've seen some good vids coming out of them. Are you sure that's not just speculation there on your part?

O.o I guess you make a good point. I'd only be streaming to twitch, which I am not making any profit on. ( or any moeny at all for that matter....) Some mario kart 8 vids I had on my personal youtube channel I had to remove monetization from... So I can probably upload youtube vids if I wanted, I just couldn't monetize those particular vids.

One idea I had was possibly trying to get the Chromecast to work in reverse. I doubt it's possible, but any thoughts?
