The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

Can I run The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion?
I ran my specs through the systemrequirementslab.com, and it said this:

CPU:
Recommended: Pentium 4 or Athlon XP or better
You Have: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8500 @ 3.16GHz

CPU Speed:
Recommended: 3 GHz
You Have: 3.2 GHz Performance Rated at: 5.76 GHz

Video Card:
Recommended: 128MB Direct3D compatible video card (NVIDIA GeForce 6800+ / ATI Radeon X800+)
You Have: Intel(R) Q45/Q43 Express Chipset

Required You Have
Video RAM 128 MB 1.5 GB
3D Yes Yes
Hardware T&L Yes Yes
Pixel Shader version 2.0 4.0
Vertex Shader version 2.0 4.0

RAM:
Recommended: 1 GB
You Have: 3.6 GB

OS:
Recommended: Windows 2000/XP/XP 64-bit
You Have: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 32-bit

Free Disk Space:
Recommended: 4.6 GB
You Have: 65.4 GB

Sound Card:

DVD-ROM:
Recommended: 8X DVD-Rom
You Have: ATAPI DVD D DH16D3S ATA Device

DirectX Version:
Recommended: DirectX 9.0c (included on disk)
You Have: 11.0

I mean, the only thing it said as a reason that I wouldn't be able to run it is that my video card isn't what it recommends, even though the specs of my current chip set matched/succeed the specs required. Does the video card brand really matter that much as to affecting my gaming experience? If so, can someone please tell me? I'd like to know before I go buy the game. I can't necessarily take the time to build my own gaming computer these days because work and school get in the way, so I was hoping someone could shine a glimmer of hope and tell me if I can run it on even low graphics without any FPS lag.

Thanks,
Niko (Incognito)

What do you mean? I'm not sure what you mean by that. Please be more clear.

I'm not sure where to find that in dxdiag. Can you help me?

I'm guessing that's the Intel GMA X4500. It most likely doesn't have enough power to run that game smoothly.

post a cpuz validation link
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
cpuz -> validate button -> submit button
it will open a browser, copy the url (address) and paste it here

the intel gma series gpus are not capable of games

That is a BEAST of a 2-core.. I have an E-8500 myself, paired up with an 8800GT. It plays Skyrim just fine.. I never cared much for Oblivion on the PC, mainly because of the lack of controller support. I tried Xpadder with Oblivion, but the interface was so different from the Xbox 360 version, I just couldn't bring myself to play it. But if you would just upgrade the video card to a 650Ti or a 750, you would be where you want..
You may also think about moving to 64bit windows... You have 4GB of ram, and then you will have another 1 or 2GB of ram on the video card.. In Widows 32bit you will only be able to use a maximum of 4GB. This will be split between your video and system memory..
This shouldn't effect Oblivion to much, but 64bit is the way to go... :)

E8500 is good for the game, your problem is the GPU.

Yeah, I'm most likely just gonna go ahead and buy a new computer here soon. I already made a new thread about it, if you wanna take a look.
