Athlon II x2 240 Overclocking Help!

I OC it to 3.314 ghz from 2.812 ghz and the Voltage is 1.4500 from 1.4250 the Temperatures is Find! 51 celsuis Stable! So anyone here know safer and faster overclock?

Locked CPUs can be bothersome to overclock well. I've had two AMD 64 X2 chips years back - one I OC'ed the crap out of. The other wouldn't overclock well at all.

You're stuck with just being able to up the FSB - this in turn causes the RAM speed to increase as well. If you can't get a higher OC then what you have and if you cannot adjust the RAM speed down closer to it's stock speeds, then you are most likely at the max OC you can gain from your CPU.

lower the ram speed
lower the ht to keep it as close to 2000 as possible
lower other multis to keep them as close to stock as possible

well guys i achieved a 3.6 ghz hahaha! without any probs.. but the Temp rises up to 60 c
and is this OC overclocked the two cores? or only one?

So to lessen the heat i put a big electric fan towards the cpu(opened) LOL..

what cpu cooler are you using/

if its the stock cooler, lower the oc til its stable on its own

Doesn't the AMD catalyst have a self overclocking feature? I remember letting it OC my 965 to 4.1.

MY PC dont have AMD Catalyst BUT i have Nvidea Control Panel coz it has Intergated GPU 630a 256 mb..

if your overclocking an aii/pii in a board with an nvidia chipset, its not going to gain much
