Will My Computer Handle OverClocking?
Hello everyone!

I am very well new to Steam, but understand the standards of overclocking.

I have done it before, but failed with overdosing the system with to much power.

Now, with my laptop being utterly fixed, I am hoping in doing it with a decent gaming laptop.

Here are my Specs!

Specs:

CPU- AMD A10-5745M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics

Video Card- AMD Radeon HD 8610G

Ram- 6GB

OS- Windows 8.1

Free Disk Space- 650GB

Bit System- 64 Bit

Processor- 2.10Ghz(Overclocked horribly is 4Ghz)

The question I am asking myself and you fellow gamer's is will my computer handle it sufficiently and is it really well worth it?

Thank you everyone for replying if you do! :D

take an i3 or pentium g3258 if you like overclocking

or i5 if you can put another $100 into the budget

will make for a much more futureproof gaming machine

Hello to everybody,

Yes you can Overclock your A10-5745M APU like I do with mine. I have a Dell Inspiron 17R Elite Quad Core and this laptop is able to handle up-to 2.9Ghz of speeds by using AMD's OverDrive app (Little difficult to find, but still available out there). However you need to be careful not to Over Do It since remember you're using an OEM laptop cooler which it's not the best cooling for Overclocking.

Hope that helps! :steamhappy:
A B85 chipset motherboard doesn't support overclocking.

only cpu a b85 board can overclock is the g3258
many b85 boards are limited to core voltage of 1.2v which may limit how far it can go

If you you aren't a geek about computers and really know what you're doing, I don't recommend over clocking. When over clocking, so many issues can arise. I don't mean for this comment to be hurtful.
