this. i was about to buy a i5 but decided with the i7 because i never know if ill need the hyper threading or not... havent regretted it at all
Btw why 2 HDD's? Why not replace that 500GB with SSD?
yea do like a 500gb-1TB storage and a 120-250gb ssd for OS+games
get a quality power supply
corsair, sesonic, xfx if possible
Its about reliability.
Never heard anything good about thermaltake or seasonic psu's.
Look up any benchmarks between an i5 and i7. There's no difference.
Games don't use those "8 threads."
Depends about game. Also still better for future.
"New generation" of consoles are 8 core so i would expect new games to use more cores.
The future is going to have much better stuff. People paid $650 for a 780. You can get a 970 for $330 which is even better.
Who cares if consoles use 8 cores. Console ports aren't going to waste development time and money on optimizing for the PC.
Good single cores are still the best for gaming.
Just buy what you need. If you NEED an i7 now then buy it. Otherwise, spend your savings for the future when you want to upgrade or build another PC.
