well besides the 850m already being a generation old, its good enough to play casual games.
I seen some gameplay of it on like BF4 at high detail doing 60fps, thats pretty good if im not mistaken.

Well, an 850m will play new and recent graphically-intensive AAA games at around 30fps at top settings, maybe a bit less.
Okay. i usually dont play games like that on computers anyways. Im more of a console player for FPS, so i stick to my ps4. But will that graphics card handle like Civ 5, Simcity 5, Tropico 5, Total War Rome 2, Simulators like farming and ship, or like any other kind of god mode kinda game. Im more into those on pc.
base price is $979+. what is the actual price?

for comparison with other configurable laptops:
http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.php?page=category_browse&selected_cat=10
the grand total for me was 1,069. because i chose to upgrade to the GTX850m
IDK if there is a typo with the website for the graphics card. They say GT 850M, but i can not find anything on a GT 850m, only a GTX850m. any help on this?

Should've gotten something with the 970M or 980M chips.
I was kind of on a budget. like is said i don't play many graphically demanding games like the newer FPS.
I practically know nothing about computers, i just love to game. I only recently got into pc gaming like 2 years ago. I bought three computers out of a retail store slowly getting better from what i had before, but they still are just awfull at playing the games i like to play. Right now all i got is the Intel HD Graphics 4000. which i have learned through spending 700$ that this pc was a POS.

Cheap.
Gaming.
Portable.

You can only choose two. You can't have have all three.

it is probably gtx 850m.

afaik,
gt + m = entry level nvidia mobile gpu; gt 720m-740m
gtx 850m-860m = mainstream nvidia mobile gpu
gtx 870m-880m = enthusiast mobile gpu (?) ; gtx 970m-980m
Thanks for the answer and help.

Hi,

I refer to notebookcheck.net for notebook performance, they've been around a while and have a lot of info. Sometimes they're a little conservative on performance data.
Unable to post links, so you'll have to cut & paste into browser.

Their review of the Clevo W650SJ is here,

http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Clevo-W650SJ-Schenker-M504-Barebones-Notebook.114329.0.html

I couldn't find any info on NVIDIA GT 850M 2GB PCIe Video, maybe it's a typo, or a lesser
version of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M,

http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-850M.107795.0.html

Scroll down for Gaming Performance, bit past halfway.

They rank NVIDIA GTX 850M at #51 on the currently available notebook gpu list, and show most 2014 games are playable @ 30+ fps, 1366x768 resolution, at medium settings.
Depends on how much you want to play a game, and with how much eye candy.

Hope this helps you.
Hey thanks alot for responding to my question. I didn't know that the GTX850m was ranked so low. But i dont play very graphically demanding games, so i suppose i can deal with medium settings. Thanks Again.
