Graphics Card Recommendations for 300w PSU?
I've been having trouble finding a graphics card for my PC. I need one that will work for Arma 2 specifically. Although I am limited to a 300w PSU. This link will show most of my current specs.

http://www.cnet.com/products/dell-inspiron-530-desktop-computer-intel-core-2-quad-q6600-500gb-hdd-4gb/specs/

The only difference is that I am running Windows 7 and I am using a Radeon x600. My current gpu seems to run everything else fine. the problem is that it has a model shader 2.0 and ARMA 2 requires 3.0.
My budget is $100.
If you need any more info, please ask. This will be my first time purchasing a graphics card. Im terrified that i will buy the wrong one.

I would say a GTX 750 Ti would probably be what you're looking for. It will be a massive step up from what you have now, falls within your budget and only draws 60W.

I think best choice would be either a Radeon R27 250 or a Geforce GTX 750. One has 65W, the other 55W power requirement so 300W should be enough.

Although as long Im not from US, have no clue how these mail-in-rebates work.

Please tell me where to buy a new GTX 750 Ti inside 100USD, I get right on spot 10 of them.
With that budget even the non-Ti version is barely manageable.

Lot of topics on similar info already in this hardware section; best choices are 750 / 750 Ti

If u wanna be cheap about it; just go on Ebay.

The lowest price i could find for that one is $125.99. It needs to be under $100 if possible. it doesnt have to be too powerful. just a little better than the x600. really all i need is something with a shader 3.

Can I just be cheap and settle for a Radeon R5 230?

As already posted by Astraea , get the gtx750, as it's only about 50 times more powerful than an x600 -
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvn750oc1gi

And is only about 20% slower than a gtx750ti

If I can come up with the extra money, that would be very nice. Good news is that I just found out that I have 350w PSU not 300w

U will be sorely disappointed by AMD GPUs below R7 260;
Seriously, look on Ebay, even if u have to bid on it. You can get them cheaper.

You want the GTX 750 ti or a new 500w 80 Plus Bronze PSU and a R7 260X or higher.

You can afford a R7 250.

Cheapest R7 250
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/his-video-card-h250fs2g
Newegg $79.99 -$20.00 +FREE s/h $59.99
$20.00 mail-in rebate

OR 2nd cheapest R7 250
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-r7250aclf4
Newegg $89.99 -$20.00 +FREE s/h $69.99
$20.00 mail-in rebate

Or if you can stretch the budget just a little:
MSI Radeon R7 260 1GB Video Card
Corsair Builder 430W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/dBPDwP
Base Total: $139.98
Mail-in Rebates: -$40.00
Shipping: $2.99
Total: $102.97

Because the R7 260 is a huge improvement over the 250, near double the performance.

Other than that you can look for a GPU taking 75w or less 2nd hand on ebay or something. Probably like a HD 7750 (basically same as R7 250) or something.

what brand/model psu?

if its an oem or poor quality (thermaltake/coolermaster/diablotek ect..) treat it like a200-250w psu and replace it when upgrading the gpu
Astraea Kisaragi 13/out./2014 às 8:18
Just don't get that Radeon 240. It would be sure a improvement over your current, but you will not always play ARMA 2. There will come a time where you want play something newer with more GPU requirement.

Already the R7 250 will be noticably faster. And even there get a DDR5 version and not the cheaper DDR3! The difference is insane - 28.8 GB/s DDR3 vs 73.6 GB/s GDDR5.

You people make me feel dumb. I understand now though. Everyone seems to love the 750 Ti. I have the LiteOn ps-6351-2 350w PSU. You are sure I can support the 750 Ti? If so, can you tell me what fps to expect from games like Arma 2, Arma 3, Saints Row 4, GTA 5(whenever it comes out.. Going way off topic, but anyone know the news on that?)

That is amazing. even on a 250w, it ran fine. Im definitely going to buy it as long as im absolutely sure of its compatibilty with my desktop. It is pretty old but it has always been able to play games very well with the x600. I just found an ATI All-In-Wonder 9800 Pro in my computer room.. Just thought i'd share that
