CPU bottleneck Intel Celeron
What is the the best graphics card I should look at that will not bottleneck too much on an Intel Celeron 1840? I am thinking of getting maybe a GTX 750 or 750 ti but would the 750 ti bottleneck too much? should I save up for an i3 before I go for a 750 ti?

The question answers itself somehow.

You may have a slight bottleneck in some games but on the other hand, what are your options?

Going for an older card is definately not advisable. And if you are aiming for the i3/750 combo eventually it makes sense to start with the GPU. *shrug*

I guess my question is what are ideal scenarios for low-end intel and nvidia cards. is a pentium sufficient for a 750? do i really need the i3 in the long run? could i pair the celeron with a 750 with no bottleneck? maybe a pentium with a 750 ti?

It mostly comes down to how games run simply with that CPU and what the minimums are. Simply put, most games, even simple ones can struggle on any Intel Celeron, which was made for similar tasking needs, like a basic office system.

Pentium G3258 would be a good minimum for gaming that don't have a real need for power of i5 or i7.

Celeron is just below the belt so to speak and won't cut it really.

I'd upgrade the CPU if the board can accept others, that way your GPU won't be so limited and/or bottlenecked by the CPU. For under $200 range for a GPU, I'd shoot for R9 270, nearly same price-point as a GTX 750 Ti, while being just a tad under the performance of a GTX 760.

g3258 and 750 ti would be a good match? the box runs Linux so I think I would rather go 750ti than r9 270.

those would cost something like ~$260 (canadian) which i think would work in the near future
