gtx 260 vs r7 260x
http://gpuboss.com/gpus/XFX-Radeon-R7-260X-vs-EVGA-GeForce-GTX-260-Core-216

The only thing the 260 has going for it is the Significantly wider memory bus

448 bit vs 128 bit

More render output processors

28 vs 16

Not sure if those are going to be a huge concern?

Playing cs:go, BF3, GTAIV

athlon 2 x6 640, 8gb ddr3 1333mhz, mobo is asus m4a88t

Umm, why are you comparing 1 year old r7 260x with 6 years old gtx 260 ?

There are way better cards from Nvidia. Like something from 600 or 700 series. Something like gtx660 or gtx750.

Amd cards may be cheaper but i would recommend getting nvidia card, because they have a lot better drivers support.

I have the 260, and I'm considering the 260x because it's $110 at frys right now.

I can't afford those cards.

So the 448 bit won't be better than 128bit? And the render output processors don't matter either?

Found a gently used EVGA GTX 560 TI CORE 448 ULTRA CLASSIFIED for $120 OBO

Which card would be better for $110 - the 560 ti or the r7 260x
On paper, they are a close match.

For gaming purposes, the GTX 560 Ti is actually a little more fps, plus will use less power and create less noise. It's a good entry level card for gaming. It has less memory, but more bandwidth.
How much better would the 560 ti be? I kinda want the warranty from frys in case something happens to the 260x

Note: Ultra Classified is much better that this benchmark (standards graphic cards) - it has better components and factory overclocked. Specially if it's the 448 Cores edition - add an extra 11% performance gain on top of that benchmark!

Their performance should be similar, but nvidia have superior drivers support and physx so gtx 560 would be a better choice.
I can vouch for the 750ti, a very solid card for the price..1080p on med/high on most games is obtainable
It can be 448bit or whatever, its a very old card. The whole comparison is stupid to begin with.
I wouldn't consider even the Geforce 6XX series anymore if I would go get a new GPU. Maxwell architecture is the way to go if you decide for nVidia.

If you want 448bit and AMD so badly, save up for a Radeon 275. Atlough you have a weakling processor and it would be bottlenecked.

I don't want new, I don't care about ATI vs Nvidia.
The guy with the GTX 560 TI CORE 448 ULTRA CLASSIFIED said he would take $80 if I picked it up today. It's missing the HDMI adapter and the power plugs, but I have a DVI to HDMI That I'm using now for my TV that would work. Just not sure about how to go about getting a 6 pin AND 8 pin connector for the card.

Any ideas?

For $80, is that a good price?

Performance in CS:GO, BF3, GTAIV vs my gtx 260 @ 1080p?

If you're looking for a card that is very good for its price, I would suggest the GTX 750TI, this thing does what it needs to do and I've never had a problem with it.
