what case is the opti 7010?
http://outsourcelocally.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/OptiPlex-7010-Desktop.jpg
the left 3 are slim and will need a low prfile gpu
the right one can take a full height gpu, but will be limited on length
the best low profile gpu you can get is a gtx970ti lp

but depending on what build it is will determine if a better gpu can be used
Look on the Dell sticker on your case (should be on top, a side panel, or the rear) and share the Dell Service Tag#. That will tell us the specs alot better, as well as the original case and such. As the service tag reveals the full specs & model that originally shipped for that particular system.
This hasn't been true for years. A mid tower Dell uses an industry standard motherboard.
