Mouse Scroll Wheel Problem (Logitech G502)
I have a Logitech G502, and it is a fine mouse for me. I am running into an issue though where my mouse wheel has become insanely loose. Before it would stay firmly in place unless attempting a scroll. Now the lightest flick of it will spin it like a skateboard wheel with new bearings.

This wasn't a gradual change with the mouse wheel either, I recently moved my computer and setup and found the mouse in this state.

While I feel like this is a hardware issue (the mouse getting smacked in the back of the car by anything), I just wanted to asked anyone if this is some sort of adjustable feature the mouse has or if I just simply popped the mouse wheel into a weird way without knowing.

Thanks

Have you fixed it yet? It's a button, just behind the scroll wheel. It toggles between free spinning and clicky scrolling modes. Click that once and it should be fixed.

Personally, I love the feature, but your mileage may vary.

If you look here:

You notice there is button just behind the scroll wheel. That is only used to toggle the scroll mode. It is not an electronic button like the rest.

its the freewheel scroll button
woth the circle/arrows on it
thats removes the click so you can scroll down pages fast
click it again and your scroll wheel will tick

Yes thank you for the responses. I felt like a complete idiot when I found the button later that day. I neglected to post back in here to say it had been fixed.

This just helped me as well. This is why instructions manuals are included... :steamfacepalm:

I thought was it common sense; the button toggles the wheel mode, simple right.

Never had a mouse wheel that had a button for free-scroll. Was scared I was gonna have to return it for a second. Thanks for this thread!

Yes its very nice feature. Comes in handy in many games; like My Summer Car where have to scroll to tighten/loosen Bolts. Many other reasons u can find to see how it helps too.

Ha! You instantly fixed my problem, thank you!!! LOL If I would move my mouse too fast, it would cause the wheel to turn slightly and this would cause weapons selection menus to pop-up in games. Very annoying! Thanks for this post too.

Yet another idiot saved from returning what I thought was a terrible mouse design.

Wow, thanks. I can't believe I suffered with my wheel all loose for this long. That button is not at all obvious. I thought it was an oddly placed programmable button.
