the price % diff is close here
$300 for 970 or $180 for 960
the 960 is a good card, but the 970 is alot better
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-7.html
and save up for a 970 or a better card in the future
if you skimp on the cpu it will cost alot more for a new cpu/board/ram in the future
a good cpu/board combo will last longer than a good gpu
If you do go for the 960 then don't bother with 4gb, that card won't have the grunt to use it effectively.
If you buy it, save even more and get the 2GB version. But please do not expect it to really be able to crank up your games on High/Ultra @ 1080p or higher. You want a 970 for that.
