and make sure the cpu fan is plugged into the cpu_fan header on the board
My PC also idles at 40 degrees C and maxes at 65 degrees.
The radiator fan is pluged into CPU Fan Header and the Pump Fan is plugged into Sys_Fan 1 Header. Ill try to lower the core voltage and see what happens
The temperatures I reported were with the Radiator fan running at 100%. With the fan running at this setting, the air being exhausted from the Radiator is pretty cool, but the temps are still very high, especially under load. The tubes feel cool, but if I turn the fan down, the radiator and tubes heat up, indicating that the pumps etc. are working correctly. I have a feeling it might be reporting incorect temps but I can't be too sure
If you think it's down to a software error could you try re installing the OS? Maybe somethings corrupt.
If you have a Infrared thermometer or borrow one.
Try measuring the tubes, the top and sides of the CPU cooling block and if possible the CPU and / or CPU socket.
If the temperatures are still within the optimal range, then it's very likely the thermal paste is uneven.
It's unlikely (but not impossible) that the motherboard sensors are off or defective.
The watercooling radiator fan is in Push config. (Cool air from inside the case being pushed onto the radiator and out of the case). The area behind this fan is cool because the cooling of the rest of the system is adequate and the rest of the chassis is cool. The GPU is doing its own thing, and the front/side intakes are working in tandem to supply cool air to the case.
Both tubes feel "warm" to touch with the radiator fans running at around 60%, not cold, but not hot either.
Ill see if I can get hold of one. I doubt the thermal issue is the issue because I have re-applied Artic Silver thermal compound more than 3 times now using 3 different methods and ensuring to use isopropyl alchohol to clean off residue each time, I also had this issue with an aftermarket lower end Air cooler called Artic Freezer A11, with similar results..
Are you sure it's an even and sufficient coating?
Too much or too little makes the heat transfer very poor.
Either way thats still way too hot..
Partisan, no disrespect intended, but I'm not sure why you keep posting in threads... at times even resurrecting old ones to voice your opinion well after the fact... and then insulting everyone who responds and accusing them of stalking.
If you're seeing some familiar names "following you around," it's because there are a handful of regular contributors here who offer their help pretty frequently. You don't have to agree with them (I often don't), but rest assured, it has nothing to do with you personally.
TY, yeah he is actually following me around for making a comment on a post that clearly made him butthurt.. Not everyone can handle the truth..
Back to the OP , Have you tried putting some new thermal paste on ?
