My Alienware Alpha is acting wonky. online connection issues, screensaver issues, voice chat issues...

I bought an Alienware Alpha ASM100-7980 Console (2.9 GHz Intel Core i7-4765T Processor, 8GB DDR3, 2TB HDD, Windows 8) . It seemed to be running good when playing Gas Guzzlers. But when I tried to play an old classic game purchased from steam like UT GOTY I couldn't connect to multiplayer. When I tried to get into Sonic Allstar Racing I would get kicked out to the steam screensaver while the game was still playing. And that has actually started happening to Gas Guzzlers which was the only game that I can play in multiplayer. Anyone else having issues?

And there is an obvious voice chat issue while playing keyboard games. I have to hook my headset to the Xbox controller to chat. This means while playing a keyboard game the controller turns off after a while and no more chat. Anyone have a resolution for this as well?

Reading the reviews, it looks like other people are having similar problems with Gas Guzzlers. Maybe try running it in Windows 7 emulation?

For the headset, you could use the audio jack in your laptop

I bought the Alpha so I can play games on my 51" HDTV and not use the laptop or desktop. The way the Alpha is set up it needs to have the headset plug into the Xbox controller. Or is there another way?

also you can get somthing like this which will allow you to get the sound from your tv if your tv has a 3.5mm auido input built into it.

Alienware Alpha does not offer any Analog Jacks.
These are approx all of the scenarios for doing Audio-Output on an Alpha:

- HDMI > HDTV; Monitor; Surround Sound Receiver
- Optical Out > HDTV; Surround Sound Receiver
- USB Wired or Wireless Headset
- USB Mic (then plug in an Analog Headset to your HDTV)
