Will it bottleneck???
Im gonna get a new graphics card (XFX Radeon R9 290 Graphics card - 4 GB - GDDR5 SDRAM) I have only one graphics thing curently is integrated amd radeon™ hd 7000/8000 (idk its just what my pc says it is and i cant tell wether is 7000 or 8000)

My processer is AMD a8-5600k APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics 3.60 GHz.

can my proseccer do my intigrated graphics along with the R9 graphics card without bottleneck? i'd rather not turn it on turbo. in fact my pc tends to get hot (i have several fans, the cover is open so its exposed to fresh air, we keep the house at 78° idk what the deal is) when i do this. So i keep my pc in not turbo, not normal, but power saving.

Basicly i just want to know if it will bottleneck. If it does that sucks cus that means i need to buy not just a new graphics card but a new proceser as well. If not then yay.

The issue with your power supply is not necessarily the advertised wattage, but the efficiency of the power supply. Also the amps available on the 12v rail. It's very unlikely you'll be able to push the 450w it advertises, logisys is not know for quality sadly... Your current system, as it sits, is probably using around 200w at full load give or take.(estimated off of the top of my head but should be fairly close) then you throw a r9 280 in there, adding another 350w or so sets you at 550w. Even with a very high quality psu capable of near 100% efficiency a 450w psu will be pushing its boundaries. The requirements on newegg recommend a 750w minimum.
kinda like a get what you pay for thing? i saw one for 49.99 that has 750W and one thats 59.99 for 750W.

Corsair Builder 750W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply is 59.99

EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply 49.99

on PCPartPicker.com it says next to some of them "Semi modular" "no" and "full". What does modular mean? should i care?

not only the price
many overrated power supplies are at their appropriate price range for the labeled wattage
some are even semi/modular

best example of an overrated overpriced power supply

noooo

that cpu will not fit in your board
first your board only takes fm2/fm2+ cpus
9590 is a am3+ cpu
and 9590 is 220w
very few boards support amd 200+w cpus

better off buying a i5 4460 and z97 board if you need a new cpu/board
and a new board will need a new case also, reusing an oem case is very difficult since the front panel connectors will be different

FX CPU
CX - Builder Series PSU

??? LOL, what.... !

Seriously, let them help u. Your $1000 can go quite far if you do it right.

- Intel i5 or i7
- decent 3rd party cooling
- GTX 970 or 980
- SSD
- Gold certified PSU

To answer your question about modular/ semi modular:
On a fully modular psu all of your cables are connected to the power supply individually, nothing is hardwired to the power supply.
With semi-modular most of the essential cables are hardwired to the board i.e. 24 pin, 12v atx, ect. Cables that may or may not be used (sata, pci-e, molex, ect.) are modular and can be installed as needed.

If you want to budget up to $1000 into this thing, just do something like this and have a few dollars left to throw at a car:
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/mYGCvK

I left out memory since your systems running 2-16gb kits essentially, you could snag 1 kit out of it. I also left out drives, o.s., and peripherals

You could change:
The cpu, I'd stick with an i5 the 4440 is probably all you'll need. It is true you'll be able to overclock higher with something like the 4690k but you'll also be pushing temps and It does take time and experience to correctly overclock a system.

Gpu could be a gtx 960 for the same money; however, amd does have the better fps per dollar in this price range. if you throw another $125-$150 at it a gtx970 would be an option.

And the case is always subjective. I added this case because it is a very good flowing case and has tons of room for cable management. That being said it is big and requires a lot of desktop/floor real estate.

9590 is just a bad idea and is 220w and needs an expensive am3+ mobo to handle 220w.

would this work? :

Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard

AMD FX-9590 4.7GHz 8-Core OEM/Tray Processor

Asus Radeon R9 290 4GB DirectCU II Video Card

Corsair Builder 750W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply

no
your curent board does not have a socket and is not a standard cpu cooler

if you can afford the fx9590 and 990 board, you should get a 4690k and z97 board

What if i get a Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard

My dad has an MSI motherboard (completly un-nessesary because he doesnt game). I dont know its specs but i could look. If it is AM3+, would it work to switch out our boards? I really dont wanna spend an extra 120$ on a board. And also vvv

while i now realize that logisys is crap and it has horrible ventelation (acording to you all[my HDD crashed like a mounth ago and had to get a new one, and when i took it out it was reallllly hot so it prorbably overheated even though it should be fine with 3 fans i think its logisys's fault. i have a 120mm fan blowing on my new one]) but is the case really needed in your selection? i was just gonna add a few new fans on the side. it has slots for them but i havmt botherd to get any on that side.

Why does everyone say i should get an intel processer? And why an invidia graphics?

I heard that having your processer and graphics being the same brand makes them work better together or something like that.

And whats wrong with AMD processers and AMD cards? Do they suck or something? Because i like amd (idk why probably cus thats what i got now) but if theres something about them you know that i dont please tell me. I dont wanna get a 200$ processer and 200$ graphics only to find out i could have gotten better for cheaper/same price

Also ,Prolly, if you take away the tower on your list your only like 80$ cheaper than my new list (with a mobo but if i dont need one then you know):

You dont need a case if you dont want one. You're just more than likely going to see higher temperatures. If you look at well designed cases, they have spent lots of money on engeneering to get the best design to ventilation ratio they can basically.

I hate to say it, because I do like amd more as a company and for certain things amd does make a great proccessor. However, it's just been well proven that intel currently does have a better proccessor for gaming. They have better overall design and instruction sets leading to better performance per core.

As far as Nvidia vs Amd goes I don't really care which brand you go with. What you say about amd going with amd and intel for nvidia used to be partially true but not so much anymore. I feel nvidia has delivered better drivers and software but that can be personal preference as well.

The big thing with the r9 290 vs gtx 970 (if thats what youre looking into) the gtx is a newer better designed card. Most games show higher fps witih the 970 with lower power usage. So that for me is a selling point.
