Need Help with card Temp gtx 780m
I have a gtx 780m, does anyone know the max tempature for this card? while playing evolve, my card is getting up to 93 under the auto detect settings. which is med/high. Does anyone know what the temps for this card are. Its starting to make me worry.

and I do mean 93c. With the desktop I had my temps were around 80. So this seems really high to me. but ive never had a laptop capable of playing games so I dont know the safe temps for anything.or max temps.

Laptop GPUs always operate under a higher temperature than the desktop versions due to obvious reasons. If you're not experiencing random distorted images or sudden shutdowns, I'd say it's doing well.

I just can't find a max tempature so its trouble some. Especially since the 780 in my desktop kills itself at 95 but sits at 83-85 under a full load.
Well there're those dedicated laptop cooling pads you can buy in case you ever lose sleep over this:

Max temp for pretty much all Mobile GTX GPUs is approx 100-105 *C
But most laptops will start it's Throttle at approx 95*C to avoid damage to CPU/GPU.

Your internal fan either needs cleaning or replacement.
An optional cooling pad can help too.
Help to sit laptop on something that will raise it above a flat un-vented surface area too.

I had a laptop with a similar, but somewhat worse, GPU. Whenever I played games, it always stayed at a fairly constant 95* temperature, and apparently that is normal for Laptop GPUs. I never had any problems with it other than it warming my hands. (Which wasn't too bad during winter, heh)

Hmm... ok. Well thank you. Still seems odd. I just cleaned out everything so its not having anything block the cooling. I'll have to get a cooling pad. just seems like a oddly high temp especially for something thats sealed off.
If cleaning doesn't help and the internal fan(s) are in good operating condition (RPMs are increasing as the Temp rise, as per-normal-operation) then best thing at that point would be to disasemble the laptop down to the motherboard, remove the CPU/GPU heatsink(s) and clean off the old Thermal Grease (TIM) and buy better grease and freshly apply a new TIM coat to the chips that those heatsinks make contact with. Thermal Paste such as Arctic Silver 5, Arctic Cooling MX4 or Antec Formula 7

no, >90C is not normal or healthy for a mobile GPU.

Even in slim cases, they should stay at 80-85C tops. Probably your fans/vents are dusty/blocked. They need cleaning every couple of months, laptops clog up with dust easier than desktops. You can use either compressed air to do that or actually open it up to clean.

Well Like I said I already cleaned out everthing and Just cleaned the thermal paste off and applied some more. a few days ago. So I dont know what else I can really do.
