G-sync monitor. (AOC G2460PG) "No signal"

So I paid £400+ for this monitor. I atleast expected it to work. NOPE! Instead I'm greeted with a message "No signal". As it refuses to come out of standby mode. What is wrong exactly?
I have a GTX 660. All the cables are working fine. BUT. I did have to use a hdmi to displayport adapter. Since.. I don't have a female port. It came with a CD which says "Monitor Driver and user manual." But to be really honest, looking at it on my laptop. It says to install it with the monitor ACTUALLY RUNNING. So yeah. Can anyone cure my anger right now by giving me a solution to this? Or am I stuck with a huge gaping hole in my wallet?

If you want G-Sync, get a GPU that has a DisplayPort output.

That's the wrong adapter. It supports DP out to HDMI in.

the gtx 660 should have a dp port, get a dp cable

I recently bought the exact same monitor, it only has the displayport for an input.

A gtx 660 should have the displayport adapter. It should look like this:

The display port is located to the very left on the image.

I do remember having a black screen when I first plugged it into the pc, but I had a secondary monitor already plugged in and when to the control panel/screen resolution (windows 7) and clicked the detect button. Then I adjusted the settings there to make the AOC g-sync monitor the primary display.

Then I downloaded the monitor driver from the AOC website and (unzipped it) and manually updated the driver (have disk option) in Device Manager.

Had no problems with it.


Is your PC (with the gtx 660) a laptop or a desktop?

My GTX 660 does not actually look like that. Oddly enough. The HDMI port. And the two dvis(? I can't remember the other one which nobody uses anymore.) Are all next to eachother in a row.
