Yeah, if I'm correct that processor is a quad core, so it should be able to handle even the highest end card.
The low end cards on a 64bit with 4 gigs of DDR2 are hilarious.
Why even bother? A a 256 bit card with 1 gb of GDDR5 will outperform that.
You don't need the 4GB for a single 1080p monitor, that's becoming overkill. I would only suggest that for duel/tri screens or higher resolution texturing.
2GB is normally more than enough for 1080p - 3GB would be optimal levels for all gaming at that resolution, to fit in ultra high res texturing - yet faster memory bandwidth will cover that anyways.
Graphic card brands also matters:
I strongly suggest the duel fan models...
ASUS DirectCU II
or
EVGA with ACX 2.0 Cooling
You will gets the most performance to cost ratio from one of those GTX 970 cards. For 10-20% more performance get the GTX 980, this would be more ideal for higher resolutions (1440p or 4K UltraHD) or duel/tri screen, but it will also cost approx $200 more...
Those are the replacement cards: GTX 780 = GTX 970. You actually get even more performance with less power usage (PSU min: 500W) and the cost should also be quite a steal for what you get. It's labelled currently as the best value graphics card of 2014.
Do you know what your PSU (Power Supply Unit) is? It needs to be at least 500W with two PCI-e 6 or 8 pin power cables. Most computers should be able to support it and it's less than what the GTX 770 needs (600W), but much greater performance (don't you just love technology)...

I know them in NZ, but where you from... you will need to double check.
I recommend:
"Asus GeForce GTX 970 Strix DirectCU II"
or
"EVGA GeForce GTX 970 Superclocked ACX 2.0"
They might actually cost more than your budget? But well worth, if you get a good price or can save up a little extra.
EDIT: Found the ones currently "Out of Stock"

Check the stock levels:

They are quite popular, most people have already pre-ordered.
