And Dreamcast.. Why?? It is the greatest console ever.. ;)
I like to go back and play Draconus and Sega Bass Fishing, and Space Channel 5 is fun as well.. They all bring back such fond memories of my youth and time wasted moments of pure bliss while high as a kite.. I'm older and sober now, but do so love those times of youth in front of the tv with the group of pals.. Now we all just play online instead of the group hang out..
Like I also kinda miss the old copy parties from my C=64 days.. But I don't miss the load times for those games.. -lol-
Suggest swapping monitor cables and monitor (if you have another you could borrow to test).
If the computer is actually running fine, and boots - try the Windows Key + P (it will toggle between different display devices), just incase Windows is attempt to display on something else rather than that monitor connected (such as Projector only / Extended Dual Screen / etc).
I hope you figure out your problem dude I know how frustrating it is when your computer gives you crap. Good luck dude.
Anyways, what resolution are you using? Is it native to what the projector supports?
Does the Acer logo just appear on the monitor and that's it?
I was thinking of putting the 770 back in the i5 system, but the Dell case is cramped and I had to leave the side of the case off. That was my main reason for the fx-6300 build a year ago.. I'd of just moved the motherboard from the dell tower to another one, but none of the holes line up with any case I own.. I guess it is a dell only mb/tower setup...
Native Resolution: 1280 x 800
Aspect Ratio: 16:10
Supported Video Formats: 480p, 720p, 1080i, 576i, 576p, 1080p
For 1680x1050, aspect ratio 16:10 is correct. For games that do not support 1680x1050, but do support 1600x900, you might just get a slight black border.
Resolution: 1440 by 900 is also a 16:10 aspect ratio.
So long you didn't move outside a resolution which the display doesn't support, it should be ok.
Every monitor has it's own native resolution. It's a good idea to match. If your resolution isn't supported for that monitor it could scale oddly or not appear at all. However, the boot should still appear fine in that case, pressing F8 would still bring up a boot menu when starting up.
Some keyboards also have a monitor toggle key, such as Fn + F7, which switches/resets where the screen is displayed to.
Yes, you should still get the BIOS even if you had a unsupported resolution or driver corruption/conflict, etc.
Like I said at the start, you first step should be narrowing problem areas. Replace the monitor cable. Use a different monitor. I'm still assuming it will be one of them, since your already swapped out the graphics card. Another computer related hardware, such as memory, even the graphics card, will cause the BIOS to beep code at least.
Graphic card fan is spinning right?
If you have the Windows Boot Disc, throw that in and see if it can boot from that, then restore last known good configuration if that's the case. Other option is possibly an infected, bricked or corrupted BIOS, which you might be able to reflash from boot. Or turn everything off, removed the motherboard battery for > 5 minutes, clearing all the BIOS state back to it's default settings.
