Ssd almost full- will my performance suffer?
90 gb Ssd is almost full, I have 5 gb open space left on it so iam wondering if this will cause any kind of slow downs on my Pc? I also have a 2nd storage drive that has 1tb storage open. The problem iam having is my games are slowing down that are on Ssd storage, could this be causing it or thats not possible?
Thanks guys.

Obviously, u can see the slow-down occurring. Any drive u use, especially a system/OS drive, 10-15% of free space should always be made available, otherwise the system chuggs when trying to move/reallocate drive data around as needed.

Until u have a new SSD/HDD of larger size, I would simply backup some data from the SSD, and off-load what you can to another drive, whatever u may have available could help, such as external drive, flash drive, etc.

Or at the very least, uninstall some games to free up space. Also may want to run Windows Disk Cleanup if u haven't done that in a while as that can help clean up the large amounts of temporary Windows Updates data still stored on the drive.

But in-game performance will slow down as well you think? I dont think Ssd has anything to do with Gaming performance, or does it? Game just feels slow no matter what settings I use but this could also be my Ramm-Another matter all together...... Thanks man.

Depends also on the SSD. Crucial with their marvell controllers don't really suffer from too much performance loss from being near to full. And some others are affected a lot.

SSD affects only your loading times. Performace gain in games is 0,5-1 FPS compared HDDs. Thats depends almost entirely on your CPU, GPU and RAM.

Alright I left 30gb open or free-space open on the Ssd- I erased 1 game that was 16gb to get some storage back-I will use the Hardrive for all the Rest of my games. I notice daily how my Ssd gets less and less storage on it even without me downloading anything-Weird is that the Garbage collection?

Corsair should be fine; as those already have a hidden 16GB onboard that handles TRIM and background tasks, thus alot of a free space is not required. But I would still free up some space where u can.

- Disable the Hibernation File
- Disable the PageFile, then after a reboot, manually set it to 4096 MIN & MAX
- Flush out Junk/Temp files with Disk Cleanup and CCleaner
- Flush out the System Restore Points and afterward, just make one new one of your own, so u do have a good one to fall back on if needed.

For Corsair SSDs, use their toolbox app
http://www.corsair.com/en-us/blog/2013/may/the-corsair-ssd-toolbox

DO NOT do Firmware Update! That should only ever be done when u wish to wipe the drive, as required for ssd firmware update.

However you can use it to properly check it's SMART status and to also ensure TRIM is enabled and such.
