Nvidia Gtx970 vs GTX260, hardware question.

Hello , I 'm using a GTX 260 right now , I 'll buy the new gtx 970 , my question is , should i keep my GTX260 on my pc or just get rid of it ? should i use the GTX260 for physx or shadows only for example or the gtx970 can handle it alone ?

I just have to ask, if your running a 260GTX, (still), what is your CPU??, you may be looking at a bottleneck on your GPU if you CPU is older then the 1150, i5??

I was running a Q9650 on a 750i board with a 295GTX less then a year ago, so I have no room to talk, but just asking.

I run a Intel Core i5-4670K Haswell Quad-Core 3.4GHz LGA 1150 84W Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics BX80646I54670K with 2 x MSI 660GTX on a Z87 board, but moving to a 970GTX as soon as I sell these, I have a eVGA 660GTX SuperClock as a back up. I am not sure what your CPU is but, consider this one or higher.

For single card slot motherboard, go with H87/H81 motherboard, less then $100 and pair it up with 16Gb, that will be good.

Thanks a lot EspiOne, i updated recently my mb/cpu and memmory for the new gpu, my actual specs is: I7 4770, 8gb 1666mhz, a gigabyte mb (have to check the model)
