What size monitor do you game with?
I have a question on a new monitor I want. It's an Acer 27'' 1080p with 144 refresh rate and 1MS. Question is, do you guys think 27'' can be a bit big? Right now I use a ASUS 24'' 1080p monitor and it's great; just with my new rig the refresh rate cant keep up with the frame rate and I hate Vsyc lol.

Decided I'll also see what everyone else used so this thread is not just about little old me lol.

smaller monitor with higher res gets you higher dot pitch, aka. a sharper picture

1080p monitor, around 22-24in looks good
1080p 27+ pixels are bigger

imo 24" is the best for 1080p. Mostly because I wouldn't take a smaller monitor personally, and 1080p on anything bigger makes for too large visible pixels on "normal" desk viewing distance.

tt, my monitor is a Acer S243HLAbmii (24", 1080p, 60hz, 2ms). Ergonomics inexistent, but it looks damn cool.

I game with a 21.5" 1080p monitor(Acer P215H) and, while it is a bit on the small side, the size is good enough and the pixel density is good.
Although, I plan to upgrade to the Asus ROG Swift Pg278q in the future.

I use a DELL 24" 1080p LED screen. Great for watching anime in h264/1080p and for my side job involving Photoshop.
I thought it will be a bit big for gaming, but no true, is perfect. However some older games look rather blocky, even if I enable the 4:3 which doesn't streches them.

Seems the number using 16:9 is far higher as of 16:10. Thats good to know as long I'm
still designing wallpapers for multiple art communities.

Seems like more people might play with 24 or less.

I've been using this 27" 1080p monitor[www.newegg.com] for about two years now and it's fantastic. Sure, technically the image quality is slightly less sharp than with a smaller screen, but it's not even close to as awful as some people make it out to be. Barely noticeable, in fact. I would never go back to a smaller screen.

Anyone know if 4k monitor is worth the buy yet? Don't think I have seen to many games support that high of res yet. But I see some monitors selling for a pretty good price now.

Most cards can't hit 4k easily. Not really worth it IMO

new games mostly support it since for quite a while games just ask your Windows which resolutions are available.

Price-wise, it's finally coming down to somewhat affordable levels with e.g. Samsung 28" 4K60 monitor (UD590 or something).

However, to play newer games at 4K smoothly, you'd need some serious GPU power, pretty much top end GPUs in SLI/CFX and even then some games might struggle.

Imo it's a bit like with 1080p. The resolution is there and the screen tech has overcome the weird first quirks (like requiring multiple connectors for a full 4K image; achieving 60hz etc), but the hardware to game properly at the resolution is not quite affordable yet.

24" Asus vg248qe, 144 Hz 1080p works for me. The 144Hz is nice for FPS games (CS:GO). 27" would probably work fine, but due to personal prefernce (and a wanting to have 3 identical sized monitors), I'm sticking with the 24".

Yeah I know for a fact my GTX 760 won't max out anything on 4k lol probably just wait a few years before that.

I use a Samsung Flatron 22 in. monitor. It's 60hz. I plan on upgrading to a 120hz 24in or something simmilar. But the 22in monitor is still a good size.

Decided and bought the 24'' monitor i was looking do to it having higher contrast rate and good reviews over the asus.

I use an Asus 21.5'', love it but I wish i had a 120hz.
