usb if the monitor has usb hub or usb sound card on it
but the sound card on the mobo will be better than any usb sound solution
Plug monitor into one of those, console into HDMI, and switch which input to view through the monitor's OSD settings.
Display Port is your best option.
DVI or HDMI is just as fine to use though too.
Install your monitor drivers, if available.
Install your latest graphic card drivers from Nvidia.
Right-click desktop > Screen Resolution > Advanced Settings
Adapter Type show label your graphics card correctly. Set resolution to desired or recommended settings.
Click on Monitor tab, it should label your monitor name and connection type. Under monitor settings you will find Screen refresh rate. Hide modes that cannot display (if required) and select the highest available (120 or 144 Hertz). Apply.
Note: G-Sync will most likely use 120Hz, not 144Hz. 144Hz isn't really required or noticable unless using 3D, which is was originally designed for and the reason most high-end gaming monitors will auto support/toggle between both.
You could connect another PC to it if need be, for that use DVI.
If you want to connect a game console to it, use HDMI.
If the monitor did not come with a DisplayPort cable, then I would suggest one of these:
