Dead/stuck pixel. How to fix it?

TV that I used to play on broke so I salvaged an old monitor from the basement.

It works but it has one vertical, purple, line on the right side of the screen, ALWAYS and one on the horizontal left, that comes and goes at will. Also purple.

Questions:
1)Dead pixels usually appear as black or white dots. That issue of mine is a stuck one or something else?
2)How can I properly fix it, at home? Some people said you must press the screen, if dead/stuck pixels. Does it really help or it's just a myth?

replace the panel, but often its cheaper to replace the entire display

thats more than a stuck pixel, thats a damaged ribbon on the panel

It sounds like you have stuck pixels and the screen itself is on its last legs.

Not everything is fixable, it just depends on what the problem ultimately is. I had a monitor with a single dead pixel and I jumped through all the hoops, the pixel was dead and no antics was going to undo it. All the tricks you can try are slightly better than doing nothing, if you're lucky you might get the outcome you want. But it's no guarantee and each instance depends on its own variables.

So hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

The good thing is that they will not typically spread. A dead pixel is dead, it won't come back no matter what. I have a similar dead pixel (pink/magenta) which indicates that the green subpixel is dead. There is no reviving the dead. Stuck pixels may fix themselves because nothing has "died", the pixel is just malfunctioning and staying on. Stuck pixels are easier to notice because they will typically always shine even on dark backgrounds.

Do a dead pixel test. If you see a purple dot on some screens, but a black dot on other colors, it is most likely a dead subpixel and there's not much you can do besides get a new panel

Throw it in a landfill and buy another one. You can get them cheap for around 100 bucks but not good for gaming. All the way up to 2 thousand for a great gaming monitor.

I bought a 1080p/144Hz monitor this past summer for $100 brand new sealed in box that's fine for gaming.
