Need to figure out the memory for this

I got 4800mhz memory for this, the label is 4600, it doesn't work. I went shopping for 4600 DDR5, there isn't any.

I went to the Asus list, for this one. There is neither 4600 nor 4800.

What do i need to buy for this? The socket is definitly DDR5.

There's 4800 listings and 1 single 4400 listing. Use the list filter.

What model ram did you buy? How do you know it's a ram issue?

I don't know anymore. The motherboard i listed in the top link specifies 4600. I got those 4800 and it plain doesn't work. The motherboard has a LED thing for post. It hangs at yellow for memory.

However, there are 6000 listed on the list i found. I don't want to buy something which won't work again.

4600 is a top end DDR4 speed.

I haven’t seen a 4600 DDR5 and I don’t think there is one on the market.
Why would you want such a slow RAM anyway? You barely save any money and just slow down your CPU. Get something above 6000 with tight timings.

Budget is capped for the month anyway. And Amazon is being weird right now. There will be time later.

2x matching dimms at almost any speed will work
4 may not hit the speeds as its more load on the cpus imc

you can tweak timings/speed or increase voltage to make it more stable if there are problems

It’s a very decent motherboard from a brand that is usually very good with RAM compatibility. You can get something like 7200 and it should work fine. Or, if you don’t want XMP for whatever reason, then any RAM will do just fine.

The RAM kit doesn’t need to be on the QVL to work. Just get one with an XMP profile and not EXPO.

If you are still building then make a list on pc part picker and ask for feedback here or on reddit. People love to help. :)

This is what i got. It doesn't seem to be listed? I'm not sure what i did wrong there. I was trying to match the RAM with the 4600 listed. Didn't look at it hard enough and now i learn the whole thing doesn't make sense to begin with.

If you didn’t open the box you can send it back. It’s so easy with amazon.
4800MT/s is the slowest DDR5 can go and CL40 is not great. You can get faster 6000 CL30 for about the same price.
