no monitor signal when playing space marine 2
Hi all,

I have encountered a problem one month earlier when playing space marine 2. Sometimes, most times when there are cinematics (like transitions to bosses) in middel of the game the monitor turns off saying in the screen "no signal", but i can hear the game sound in my headphones.

Cant do anything to redisplay image, the only solution is to press off the tower button to turn off the pc. Dont think is temperature cause it isnt a consistent thing (today was playing all the afternoon and didnt happen). Last time it happened before today, i DDU driver and did a fresh driver reinstall, disconected my second monitor and problem dissapeared.

Any ideas?

MY pc:

windows 11

i7 12700k

Asus 3070 TUF

MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4

32 gb ddr4 ram (Gskill i think dont remember)

Connect your second monitor again and see if the problem comes back.

Ok i will try tomorrow if i have some time. Another thing didnt say, is after turn on the computer (after the problem) i had no sound, then i did realize that i have nvidia sound driver installed too, so when i enter in sound system-sound in windows 11 it was ticking the monitor and not the realtek audio device, dont know if it has any relation but when reinstalled driver today, didnt select audio driver and i disable the monitor audio related to nvidia

Probably a good step. Disable any audio devices you don't use if it keeps doing that.
You are probably plagued by the Steam Overlay crashing to black screen; almost everyone has this problem now.

Set Steam to NOT "Start with Windows"
Make a Desktop shortcut for Steam.
Add this line to the TARGET line
-disable-overlay-gpu-pri

So for example it's like this:
C:\Steam\steam.exe -disable-overlay-gpu-pri
-or-
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe" -disable-overlay-gpu-pri

And set Steam.exe to:
> Run As Admin
> Disable Full Screen Optimization

Also in Windows Graphics Settings, there is a list so you can force the GPU used.
Add Steam.exe and any Game related EXE that you have had issues with into there. Once added change the Options for each to "High Performance GPU"

Launch Steam from now on using that desktop shortcut.

Once in Steam, go to Settings > Interface

First disable GPU hardware acceleration; when asked to restart Steam click NO.

Then opt into the Steam Beta. When asked to restart, click YES
