LINUX - UBUNTU
DOES anyone know if the ♥♥♥♥♥ at PIRANHA GAMES are going to set a version for Ubuntu Linux or are they going to be asshats about it like they were for the last DLC?

what are you on about?
have you even enabled steam play in settings at the compatibility tab?

if so use download and use protonup-qt it should be in the store in ubuntu

download then the latest proton-ge for steam then restart steam

i suggest then going to settings>compatbility and changing it to proton-ge it will restart steam again

then go to your library and right click your game>properties>compatibility
check if "Force The Use Of A Specific Steam Play Compatibility Tool" is checked" and make sure it is using protonge

if it was a linux port then what will happen it will download the windows port and run it with proton

I see no problem that Proton works fine according to protondb.
The age of native Linux ports of games is dead. There's very, very little incentive to maintain a Linux port when you could just ensure the Windows version runs well via Proton. Most developers aren't even paying any attention to Linux at all, and the games just run anyway.

I think Steam Play is now enabled by default on Linux Steam installations. Should be as simple as install then play.
