Is that a prebuilt?
It's a fantastic PC but DDR5-6000 with an unknown CL rating seems oddly slow for what I assume is an Intel i9-14900K.


This CPU has incredible potential but you need faster RAM paired with a highend overclocking motherboard with two DIMM slots - like the ASUS Z890 APEX. (You pay extra for 2 DIMM slots instead of 4 for better RAM speed and stability).
You also need some luck with the silicon lottery and skill to tune your system. With these, you could potentially have the best gaming CPU on the planet.... maybe.


However, if you don’t want the hassle of tuning, disabling e-cores, locking boost clocks, dealing with high, potentially suicidal voltages degrading your CPU, or spending days on RAM tuning and testing, you’d be better off with a Ryzen 9800X3D, relatively cheap DDR5-6000 CL28, and any decent motherboard. This setup can be up to 30% faster in many games with a standard build and stock settings (with expo/xmp enabled for DDR5-6000). You might see even bigger difference in performance if you want to avoid overclocking completely (no xmp).

I hope you are doing professional work, though, if you were you'd likely if gone with 128GB of memory, as otherwise your ram is far too slow for the cpu really.

If you aren't going to do professional work and just game on it and don't plan to tweak and tune the ram and cpu, you probably would of been better with a 9800x3d tbh and the 6000 memory suggests you won't be.

Other than that, what do you expect people to say?

It's mostly top tier spec, shame it'll be held back by the memory.

The display is superb. I use the PG32UCDP myself so I know these LG oleds are capable of visual perfection. Games like Dead Space remake and The Medium will look picture perfect on it- 10/10

Windows 11 is good, especially if you debloat it and optimise it for gaming - 9/10

Fix the typo for the cpu 14600? 14700K? or 14900K? If it's a 14900K then that's a 10/10.

Remember, this is a 6ghz beast and is already highly clocked, so no need for overclocking. Immediately turn off the rubbish setting in the bios called 'multi core enhancement' or MCE. This setting trashes the 14900K for no gaming benefits. I'd also recommend turning off hyperthreading. Rarely does hyperthreading benefit gaming. Doing these two measures will pump less voltage into the 14900K and keep temperatures down.

The 64gb and 6000mhz ddr5 ram is a really good and smart choice. If it's cl30 or cl32 then it's 10/10. If cl40 then 6/10

So many tests have been done that show even the basic jadec speed of 4800mhz keeps up with, and at times beats, 7200mhz ram at 4K (yes your monitor is not 4K). Remember, the 14900K only supports up to 5600mhz, so 6000mhz is plenty but 6400mhz is fine too but no more. Thrashing the memory controller will do nothing but degrade the mighty 14900K (I own the 13900KS which is, more or less, the same cpu)

The case is, I think woeful for a pc of this calibre. 0/10

Firstly you can't put a 360 rad on top but when the rad is on the front it's not sitting higher than the cpu because the I/O panel is at the very top. Everyone knowns the rad should always sit higher than the cpu. The 14900K deserves better than this and it may well thermal throttle because of inadequate cooling. I tell you seriously, take the side panel off when gaming with your pc and put it back on when you're finished.

The psu looks good. I suppose it's the GA F3 1200w gold, which has been well reviewed. It's a native PCIe Gen 5 12vhpwr unit that will cover 3x gpu excursions and 2x total power excursions 7/10

While the GA F3 1200w is a good psu, thermaltake have a superb new psu, the TF3 1300 titanium and I think your rig deserves this psu.

The 5090, the beast, the legend. I think only the Aorus 5090 Master or the Astral 5090 gets a 10/10, the rest get a 9/10. You can now play Avatar with the unobtanium setting. You won't believe your eyes when you do especially on oled! However, you didn't tell us the model, which is a bad omission!

Overall, it's a terrific rig, the only flaw being the terrible case. I feel with it's inadequate air flow, and on hot summer days, your rig will cripple itself and throttle on its own temperatures. Keep the case open while gaming!!

You are wrong about memory and how to setup a cpu, please stop spreading this stuff.

Hyoerthreading doesn't use much power, it's e-cores that pull a load of power and don't really add to gaming.

Locking your cores and setting your voltages are how you get max performance and stop any kind of degregation.

Doesn't matter which 5090 you get, they all perform all but identical, only reason to go with something like an astral is if you plan to mod or run xoc bios' and want / need to monitor the power delivery as you'll be pulling 800w, beyond that, get the cheapest model.

Thermaketaje don't make good psu's or anything really these days, avoid them.

The 13900k/s 14900k/s are only 6GHz on 2 cores and unless you lock stuff, you'll get less performance overall than just locking it to the all core boost due to throttling etc.

I have two ViewSonic monitors and I tell ya, the software for these things, mine are rated for, up to, 192k bitrate at a depth of 24-bits which is not bad at all as I purchased them for $100 (both) preowned.

Mine came with official drivers which are trash, and unofficial drivers which are golden.

With all this Win10 and Win11 talk, I want to let everyone know to make sure you have your installation media for your various devices and if you are moving to Win11, to get those ready, or better, create a dedicated system archive drive.

I am still testing Symbolic Links, Symbolic Junctions, and Win10 to Win11 merging.

monitors do not need drivers ever

if you want to install specific drivers for some functions, ex control the monitors brightness, contrast or volume etc..
you can but its 100% optional

else using the monitors osd menu to do those things does the exact same thing

even most touch screen displays work fine with the generic monitor drivers

the audio settings that use the display are the gpus sound card, not the monitors
hdmi can carry audio from the mobo or gpu

unless maybe its using usb to the monitor for a sound card

Their high end stuff is very good. Their wonderful tough fans are stonkingly good. I have 10 of these bad boys in my case and they blow volumes of air. Their high end PSU are top tier titanium models. The new TF3 models are a single rail/multi rail design and come with super high quality etched 12vhpwr 2x6 cables.

Also their cases are marvellous too. The Tower 600 is an instant classic and the Core series of cases are, for me, the most beautiful cases ever made. I feel so sad I can't own a Core P6 pro because it doesn't quite fit my approach to pc building, even though my current case is, in effect an open frame.The P8 is just too big for me.

In Australia they have a strong presence and it's nice to know I can get anything and everything for my pc. Fan hubs, extension cables, high quality riser cables, the best cases, an incredible range of fans, high end psu...the lot.

So for me, it's Gigabyte Aorus for motherboard and gpu, Kingston Fury for ram, Asus PG monitors, Logitech for keyboard and mouse and Thermaltake for everything else.

I've not seen any proper testing suggesting thermaltake stuff is any good for years and they copy a bunch of their case designs from other manufacturers (or atleast did).

They were cool when I was in high-school, sadly, that was in the 90's, other companies simply make better quality stuff at often better prices.

but anything 'smart' is pure trash
