I think I just got hit by this issue. Thought I was in the clear after about 6 weeks of perfect stability, but now it just refuses to boot and stops with POST code "00". I never turned on PBO, but some people have said it's on by default on the higher-end boards. Flashing the new "fixed" BIOS didn't help, but I don't think it was supposed to help if the CPU was already dead.
Might be a burnt pad on the bottom of the cpu if your lucky. Would at least give you a clearer idea of the fault.

Kind of funny people with the higher end stuff seem to get the most problems.
