will a msi gaming trio 5080 fit in my case
Hi all im at a bit of a loss as im looking at getting a msi gaming trio 5080 which msi say is 338 mm
according to my case which is a design 7 compact which supports up to 360mm but i have a raditor at the front as it wont fit at the top due to my mobo. so with a raditor at the front it only support up to 305mm but i currently have a msi gaming trio 208ti which according to msi is 327mm which means im already 22mm over what i should have left and i still have some room. i really just want to know if the manual for the case is really wrong or if im missing something before i but the 5080.
thank you

If I was really unsure I have this handy dandy thing called a tape measure.

So you have a 327mm in there, at the end of the 2080Ti do you have 1 centimetre spare, if so happy days.
Yeah if you already own the case then simply use the tape measure or ruler at the PCI-E slot.

I have measured several time and apparently I have around 2cm spare but then when I read the spec it made me think that maybe it would affect the temps so just wanted to see what everyone else thought on the matter

Nah stick that bad boy in and enjoy, just have good air flow in the case.

If you're CPU is as old as the 2080Ti you'll have a bit of a CPU limit with that card.

Perfect thank you I have got two fans at the front two at the top and 1 at the rear my cpu is a 5900x but planning on upgrading to a 9950x3d soon

Yeah 5900X is still ok but you'll get more from it with a 9950X3D for sure, I have a 9800X3D myself and it's still often the bottleneck when going for high FPS.
I'd consider getting a shorter 5080?

You measure from the case bracket.

Maybe get a 5080 FE they are shorter/smaller

304mm Gigabyte 5080 barely fit in my 310mm case, had to completely disassemble it and put it in sideways to get it to fit, I hate how oversized modern GPUs are. especially that it seems to be just for design not for functionality, Founders Edition 5090 is dual slot, so why tf are AIBs putting these huge ass coolers even on 5070 it makes no sense. Some people use PCIe slots you know.
