This card shreds on literally all games in HD rez. Also in 1440p with minimum sacrifices.
Honestly, UE5 is just a trainwreck.
They keep adding crap to games like 7 Days to Die making it a resource hog and it couldn't keep up with Dev Bloat in the game.
It can be managed if a game is pretty linear and contained, but it is still a big performance hit for little returns. Then you apply it to an open world game, and that is when everything goes to ♥♥♥♥. All of the problems get multiplied many times over when it is trying to run an open world game.
It doesn't
Monster Hunter Wilds is pushing the card too 30 FPS in towns.
Stalker 2 has a lot of demanding moments.
Final Fantasy 16 was also struggling.
The First Descendant has plenty of places where it chugs.
This is btw reaching 60 FPS. Which is bare minimum.
There are without a doubt more games that are struggling with a RTX 3080 FE.
I have btw
i5 12600KF
RTX 3080 FE
32 GB RAM 3600Mhz
Win 11
All games on Nvme 2.0
If you play older games then yes it will run fine but you're not pushing most of the newer Unreal Engine 5 games unless they are really optimized.
You also want a decent CPU and 32Gb minimum RAM as well. Such as Intel 12th Gen i5 or better. Or Ryzen 3700X/5600X or better
Monster Hunter Wilds is totally unoptimized, it doesn't even count :/
But a fully modded Cyberpunk ( around 900 mods) is totally playable in ultra - high with RT on high and DLSS quality. Cyberpunk is still a benchmark tech demo.
Anyway, most of the games have mandatory DLSS or it's powerpoint time.......guess why ?Because even 40 and 50 series struggle without DLSS in certain games because " Marketing yoohoo".
Anyway, it's not the time ot buy a new card especially now with all the lies from Nvidia and the not so believable FSR4 - Ray tracing copy from AMD.
The performance is still worse on AMDs side. But the prices at Nvidia are plain crazy.
I'll have to wait probably 2 or 3 years until " something working and not based on lies" comes out.
