PC is altering monitor settings.

Alright, so I use an LG 4k TV for my monitor, I have for years and years and years.

When I swapped to Linux Mint, sometimes, when games launch, they alter the settings on my monitor. I do not mean the "display settings" on my PC to communicate with my monitor. I mean, literally the settings I use the REMOTE to access on my TV. Stuff the PC is not even remotely connected to.

It has to do with "Just Scan". The thing that makes the desktop environment slightly expand beyond the edges of the monitor.

Basically, sometimes (extremely rarely), when I play a game, the PC somehow sets my TV SETTINGS (again, only accessed via the REMOTE FOR THE TV) to make it so Just Scan is off and suddenly the monitor doesn't fit the screen.

I know how to fix this, obviously

but my question is this,

how and why is this happening? Mostly how. How does my PC change settings on my TV that literally require the TV remote to access?

i have seen that happen a few times
check the tv menu settings, look for demo mode and turn that off
it resets all settings to defaults every few hours or so, and when the tv is power cycled

turning off demo mode will allow settings to be saved

Appreciate the answer but I'm not in Demo Mode.

I'm pretty familiar with the TV and it's settings. I just don't understand how launching a game is changing my monitor settings that you have to use the remote to the TV to access.
