HDMI 2.2 vs DP 2.1b
HDMI 2.2 96Gbps vs DP 2.1b 80Gbps

Will need to wait for next gen cards in order to utilize HDMI 2.2

why are you comparing them?
at any given time, dp/dvi-d have been ahead of hdmi

dp > dvi-d > hdmi -> dvi-a = vga

Hdmi has better audio/arc support and cec. Tbh, i'd pick hdmi over dp these days. Dp bandwidth is overkill and 99% of the users prolly nvr use most of it.

Thunderbolt is even better, but it's stupidly more expensive than dp or hdmi

dp can support audio, if the monitor has speakers

or you can use hdmi audio to a receiver without video

Still using vga monitors so if you want to compare hdmi widened especially for console compatibility while dp far more super for pc

I personally don’t see much difference. I use gaming TVs for monitors so I’m stuck with HDMI anyway.
Both can do 4K 480Hz

Because hdmi 2.2 will have more bandwidth than dp 2.1b

yeah me too, as long as you have an HDMI cable that can handle the bandwidth.
