hdmi in a nutshell is one of those invite only parties normies may not attend
display port is a party everybody can attend
problem is no mather how you see it hdmi is their product if they gatekeep it it kinda is their right just that it is not very nice to do so but i do not think they care if we find them nice or not
at any given time, dp/dvi-d have been ahead of hdmi
dp > dvi-d > hdmi -> dvi-a = vga
Thunderbolt is even better, but it's stupidly more expensive than dp or hdmi
or you can use hdmi audio to a receiver without video
Both can do 4K 480Hz
yeah me too, as long as you have an HDMI cable that can handle the bandwidth.
HDMI 2.2 96Gbps
DP 2.1b 80Gbps
