i did not update to 24H2 but i saved this just incase im forced down the line if you are on 24H2 i'd probably disable this.

I believe that forced 24H2 update will happen around October 2025 before or around the EOL of Win10 - I'm taking Win10 into 2026 most likely if things do not improve for Win11 - may as well get rid of that MS Phone Link crap as well, caused issues with games.

Windows Powershell or Terminal (Admin):

It is disabled on my PC. I suspect the reason is that I disabled all of the AI stuff that appeared on the PC after some recent update or other. I constantly review my PC's security and specifically remove anything that I don't want. I have no application for AI so uninstalled/disabled it.
Microsoft seem increasingly persistent that they are going to take all of our information and stop us modifying anything. My one big fear is that sooner or later they will succeed.

i had so many issues on 24h2 i wiped my os drive and reinstalled with rufus back to 22h2

Very likely longer than that imo. As long as the chromium embedded framework that supports Windows 10 supports the features, security, etc. that Valve wants to implement in Steam then they will likely continue to support it even if it is EoL. Considering Windows 7 EoL date was January 2020 and Valve didn't discontinue support for it until January 2024 when they wanted to implement new features of an updated CEF; I'd expect they will likely support Windows 10 until at least 2028.

Exactly, Microsoft said Windows 10 was a "perfect 10" and the final version.

That's why we have Windows 11, and Windows 12 (if you are in the beta).

I am guessing either a bad update or since it has a tendency of updating int the background people shout their computer off at the wrong time. The video is a guy testing a laptop and finding out that is what happened.

This is the fear I had when I changed from Legacy to UEFI, this can happen with UEFI but not Legacy/CSM - scary stuff indeed and can also affect desktops not just laptops.

Perhaps, make sure to create a bootable flash drive for the system(s) or some type of backup flash solution - I don't wish this to happen to anyone, thank you for posting.

idk how many times I've had to uninstall or disable things they just keep putting on my machine with updates... like no, I don't want cortana or dropbox or w.e else!
