but with that said i can see where its going to help so many that only have coax cable runs at best....now the problem comes back to the fact the higher bandwidth 4.0 needs will cause issues with older coax spliters and even a little bit of contortion.....having the modem as the first drop in every run will be needed
Sure DOCSIS 4 is great for people with ONLY that as an option but as others have said if you have fiber as an option take the fiber.
Its wierd, this reply is written as if theres no second part to my comment. Very strange....... such a mystery....
I might have if Comcast didn't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ me with flat out lies to try to upsell fiber.
Comcast doesn't offer fiber they offer a coax connection which makes your reply a bit nonsensical.
You're essentially saying you won't go fiber because of Comcast so you'll instead stick to the only type of service Comcast offers.... thats a bit odd.
So I'll just rephrase my original comment: Cable sucks, F%$# Comcast, if anybody can they should go fiber.
I have no idea what you think this means. No really, what on earth are you trying to say?
Nothing you said counters my point, if you have the option to skip cable and its nonsense and go fiber then do that.
You saying the MAXIMUM POSSIBLE upload which isn't going to be offered for a long time is faster than what you have now in no way counters or adds to what I said.
Saying the bad service will be less bad but still not as good as the good service means nothing.
And if your point is only to highlight you have access to then read the second part of my original comment over and over again until its understood.
comcast has Xfinity and depending on region, does have fiber service with service up to 10gb.....also more then a few service providers keep the fiber hubs at the curb box and only running a coax drop in to the house....my provider does this in some sections of my hood but at my house the hub itself was mounted to the back wall of my house and the coax run is about 20 feet long in to the dinning room.....
its funny to say this but just because its got a coax run on it does not mean its not fiber.....it could be a dedicated coax run line like mine
fyp
its a rebrand to remove comcast from their internet service name
