Macro Pad Explination?
Ok, so I bought a DOIO KB16-01 and I want to set up macros to be used in games. I'm using the software called VIA in my browser to customize it but it's proving to be a little more complicated than I had anticipated.. All I want to do it have each key (16 in total) be their own individual independent macro key that I can bind things to in-game. Is it just not that simple, or am I misunderstanding what this thing does? I realize I can setup custom macros within windows and internet browsers to perform certain shortcuts and things. That's all well and good, but I really bought it to use it in games. If all I can do is duplicate keys that are already on my keyboard then what's the point?

I ended up answering my own question through sheer stubborn perseverance.. I discovered that you can map F13-F24 as well as unused mouse buttons, which effectively gives me exactly what I want. Most games I've tried seem to except those as valid keys. I'll leave this here in case someone happens to have the same question 10 years from now in a google search.
