Asus Rog Strix X870E-E EXPO Profile issue versus bios update
I had bios 0706 and found the EXPO profile does not give my 64 GB RAM full speed at 6400 MHz. Unfortunately RAM speed running at 3600 MHz only.

This morning, I updated the bios for the Motherboard to 0804 and found still EXPO profile issue not resolved. As the case in 0706, I need to stay with Bios default settings. So neither 0706 nor 0804 help to resolve the EXPO profile compatibility.

Then, I tried to go back to bios 0606 but could not. The Bios screen says: Bios version not Valid ...!!

I found the same case with people owning the same MB at ASUS forum.

Please Asus, do something for ASUS ROG STRIX 870E-E. It is supposed to be a high-end motherboard. Let us feel that.

It's not my thought, I copied data from AMD website. It says, with 4 sticks RAM the processor supports the speed of 3600. No matter what kind of sticks you buy. You can overclock it a bit, but you will never get the speed you aim for.

Simple explanation. It is the CPU that is reading from RAM and writing to RAM. There are 2 buses between them, address and data. CPU sets the address it want's to read, the clock is ticking, after so many ticks the RAM sets the data on the data bus. The number of ticks is fixed. The RAM cannot do anything faster than CPU supports. When CPU needs to read some data, and it expects that data after 30 ticks of the clock, the data must be there exactly on that moment. It cannot be faster just because RAM can do.

In summary, your system works fine now.

When I purchased this MB, I started with 0706 not 0606

Oh. Then it’s close to impossible to make standard EXPO profile work with 4 RAM sticks.
CPU and its memory controller is the main limitation here.

Interesting, seems like the CPU's can support all revisions - one time, on AM4, I had to manually time the RAM until a newer revision was released (which seems fast and furious for this ASUS board here) - mine was not so fast on a release fix, ASRock. :csd2smile::badluck:

And then it happened again around the same time with the newer revsion, but re-flashing fixed that issue - oh, and then one time I forgot to enable "OC Power" option for the DRAM to get the XMP to work properly (but this was more, human error/oversight). :chirp:

With no doubt, Asus Rog Strix X870E-E , really needs more support from Asus.

When it comes to RAM speed there is not so much dependent on motherboard. It is mostly the CPU and memory itself.
See specs of your CPU:

Max Memory Speed
2x1R DDR5-5600
2x2R DDR5-5600
4x1R DDR5-3600

What you describe above is perfectly normal.

they do not need anything.....you need to understand what you are doing before doing it......4 sticks will never support this speed.....

Wait... Let me understand your thought here.
I have 4x32 GB RAM in which every RAM slot is engaged with one 32 GB. So total is 128 GB. I am engaging slots as follows:
DIMM A1 , DIMM A2 , DIMM B1 and DIMM B2

Each 32 GB stick is Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 with 6400 MHz.

Would elaborate more in your though please?
