You should probably wait, regardless, and just get the 4090 after the 5090 comes out.
I would buy a second hand 4090 and lose no sleep over it, 50 series so far seems like it's going to be a disappointment, even worse if all of the upcoming improvements to DLSS and neural rendering are hardware locked to Blackwell.
But you can also buy a 4090 that is currently selling for 50%+ of it's msrp. Your choice.
Do you need 100+TFlops or not?
If you want the best value then wait for the best value.
We don’t know what will be the best value yet but 5080 might have similar performance to 4090 at a lower price. 16GB of memory rises an eyebrow however.
