Buy RTX 4090 now or wait for RTX 5090???

There's no guarantee that the 5090 will even be worth waiting for, and it's undoubtedly going to be more expensive because they needlessly added another 8GB to it while keeping the 5080 at 16.

I would buy a second hand 4090 and lose no sleep over it, 50 series so far seems like it's going to be a disappointment, even worse if all of the upcoming improvements to DLSS and neural rendering are hardware locked to Blackwell.

5090 has 8gb more vram and gddr7. It will probably outperform the 4090 by 20-30% for a bit higher price.
But you can also buy a 4090 that is currently selling for 50%+ of it's msrp. Your choice.

We don’t know what will be the best value yet but 5080 might have similar performance to 4090 at a lower price. 16GB of memory rises an eyebrow however.
