7600x3d at release 359
7600x3d now 429

so a 7600x3d costs 100 euro more than a 7800x3d used to cost.

and all cpu cost 70-100 euro more than launchprice.

i don't mind paying 1100 euro for a nice HEDT chip.. but these prices are a tad insane for mainstream cpu's

7600x3D is a microcenter exclusive so R.I.P. anybody who doesn't live closeby one and it kinda feels like a joke since the M.S.R.P. is where the 7800x3D was at months ago. Would've been better to upgrade to the 7800x3D sooner. Kinda feels like the main reason it exists is because A.M.D. didn't want to continue offering that good of a deal. Also in american pricing not everything is looking terrible.

Ryzen 4500 and 5500 are still sitting at $70 and $80 price point they usually sit at for those looking for an entry level build, although I'd probably say to get a 12100f for $75 if you're looking in that price range at this point since L.G.A. 1700 has more in the way of upward motility than AM4, and you can get a D.D.R. 5 motherboard/R.A.M. kit.

For something more mid-range the 12600kf sits at $146, which isn't the lowest ever price but kind of close, although you're not getting Assassin's Creed Shadows with it like you were during the sale on Newegg where it was at $140. Granted, these days 12600kf is looking more like upper entry level, particularly since the 24h2 update allegedly favors A.M.D. processors but I'm not sure how much the price to perf. dynamic changed since then, esp. since Intel processors allegedly got some sort of a boost too and reviewers aren't really looking at alder lake parts much.

Kinda waiting to see what the after christmas sales might look like since those mark the day of the holiday shopping season and people aren't in a frenzy to get gifts under the tree anymore.

Yep AMD cut production on the 7800x3d because they didn't want it to compete with the 9800x3d (which is only marginally better in benchmarks)

The joy of having one hardware company dominating: Stagnation and price gouging.
sounds cheap

amd just as evil as intel was... "no amd is noble, it forced intel to lower prices/increase core counts"

all it did was kill of HEDT, add crappy "ecores" that are useless.. and kill of multitreading.. while games still not even use the 8 cores intel already had in 2015.

and now they are pricegauching like intel did too..

I wouldn't call 20 fps "marginally" don't forget the 9800X3D beats the standard 7700X and 9700x in productivity as well, it can also go up to 5.6ghz if you don't buy those cheap motherboards

Chinese export ban on rare earth minerals. There's lots in a CPU.

Holy crap, I didn't even notice the price hike, not worth $500+ for a 8 core in my opinion. Kinda lucky I got my 5950x for $289 new when I did, even that has gone up, nuts... 2025 just wont be the year I'm afraid with PC components, Even the used market a lot of these people are on freaking crack for old stuff.

Anyone who thought that AMD would be any different to any other manufacturer.......

Just don't buy the insanely expensive models. Besides most of the higher end models mostly have more cores which most games will not utilize.
Corona Scurrae 24. dec. 2024 kl. 17:15
Take my advice and buy a cheap 13700k and tune it. Far better value than spending that obscene amount of money on something that's exceptional in racing games.

It's the mainstream tech influencers that we have to thank for these prices. Mindlessly praising AMD and constantly bashing Intel for their own incompetence to tune their systems.

Dirt cheap if you're on AM4. (I'm on a 5500 which was a nice and dirt cheap upgrade from my 1600).

But even AM5 seems quite reasonable as long as you don't get the highest and latest top of the line model.
