chipset, lan, audio, usb, vga
and update bios
and disable windows auto reboot on bsod so you can see the bsod
Then download and install all latest drivers. Namely the Chipset and GPU Drivers from AMD.COM
Funny enough that what I did and so far I still had game crashes, maybe if I update BIOS?
Could be a few problems.
Update to latest bios.
Make sure Memory is in DIMM_A2/DIMM_B2 also test with one stick to see if you get any issues.
IMC on CPU might be faulty.
You can run memory at 4800MHz(default) with no issues?, try 5200MHz see if you still get crashes.
Also you might have to tinker with a few settings in the bios to get your ram to run stable at 6000MHz.
But you said you bought it used and that is kind of an issue because some people may not have updated their BIOS when there was an issue with EXPO that damaged CPUs.
At any rate if you buy something and it doesn't work out the box, before bothering to troubleshoot it I'd return it every time if it is possible.
Some hardware issues can occur sporadically until they become severe. That usually happens right outside the warranty or guarantee. I typically avoid used products unless they are "refurbished" and backed by a warranty or I know the person.
First of all, you have a new Chipset Driver available (Version 6.10.22.027 released last month), then this board is getting monthly BIOS updates but to stay away from update Version 3067 (Dec 18th) - update to Version 3057 (Nov) or 3042 (Oct), personally I would only update to the Dec BIOS only if both of those previous ones were to fail.
And don't update the GPU because sometimes updated drivers are not the better drivers, especially for AMD RX/Radeon so be careful of that as well.
Hello, I have version 3014 BIOS and to be honest, I never knew about Chipset drivers
You have a few great BIOS updates for system stability, hardware compatibility, and security, so look into those but first onward to the AMD Chipset Driver.
Oh, I get it now. So, I basically did another clean installation of Windows 10 and performed updates. I installed the chipset drivers, and it also turned out that I had the Plus version, not the E version. I kept getting confused about why the BIOS file wasn't working from the USB until I realized it was the Plus version, hahah. Thanks for help and now I will test on games
First thing to do with ANY PC of any kind after it's built is check for BIOS update.
I do that before I even buy a Motherboard; and have that downloaded and extracted to my Win10/11 USB Flash Drive so it's ready to go.
