Analog sticks need to be parallel. ♥♥♥♥ the xbox layout.
Also, the onscreen keyboard has always been a pain in the ass. Even if it would be prone to breakage or wearing out, a slide-out physical keyboard would be nice.
They're working on drivers for allowing Steam OS on the ROG Ally, so that isn't a huge issue.
Despite supposedly having more powerful hardware, Windows bloat is the main thing holding the Ally back (along with the filthy control layout and bad TDP) compared to the Steam Deck.
There is Steam Deck LCD and Steam Deck LCD version and the storage capacity is different.
Yes, looking at the two steam decks they come with the same APU, but the lithography used is different, therefore the scenario of TDP beign limited to 15W, you will see that the performance is also different.
Now, creating something with the size of PSP without removing stuff from it is interesting.
Probably they can do it to be tinner, but I am not sure about the rest of it.
Just put in the best processor but ignore the battery temperature which runs at 50C.
Also, with an octa-core processor and 15W TDP, you'll get the same performance of the same processor, but with four cores. This sounds familiar to the MSI claw with their i7 that had like 16 cores or something.
Probably Steam Deck Lite should be a rerelease of the current steam deck, but with newer lithograhy, so you can make it tinner at least. This doesn't mean you can't get rid of some of the buttons.

Being able to have a portable handheld, that turns into a full powered gaming PC when docked would be the dream:

Imagine adding something like a 4090 to a Steam Deck 2.
