New ATX 3.0 for 5080?
I have a 1200w EVGA Plat 80+ PSU. It is ATX 2.0. From my understanding, the 5080 will utilize PCIE 5.0 and some tech reviewers are recommending ATX 3.0.

I probably will get the 5080 eventually. I am wondering your thoughts on if we will need to upgrade to 3.0. EVGA is really good. 1200w is really good. I know it may not be ideal, but I do not think it will be necessary.

What are your thoughts?

We are actually at ATX 3.1 now. Worth waiting and seeing what the tech press say once these cards are actually released and available for sale. The PSU rating should cater for your CPU, motherboard, possible water cooling and other likely power usage.

I wouldn't worry about PCIe 5.0 motherboard as 6.0 is also just around the corner. At what point do you stop shelling out cash for zero difference in actual hardware performance.
