cheapest option right now would be a none 3d 5700x......you can get one with a 32gb kit of memory for a 150 bucks from newegg.....100 bucks for a motherboard

If you have AM4 mobo then 5700X3D is best value for AM4 socket, it has no problem with something like 2080 Ti or up to 4080 even. 5800X3D are rather expensive now, especially compared to 5700X3D.
If you are building new it`s probably better to go with AM5 socket.

2080ti is pretty weak for 5800x3d

You need the CPU to be stronger than the GPU so you don't get freezing.

What do you think is going to happen if your GPU bottlenecks your CPU?

Do you think something bad will happen or do you think games will run as fast as your 2080Ti can push them... Which is literally what you want lol

If the GPU bottlenecks the CPU then the GPU will run at 100% and the CPU will have spare capacity - this is not a problem - in fact it's better this way.

wrong....have that CPU with a 3080 and its a perfect match.....going any higher on GPU then a 3080 you will need a new CPU......

if you want longevity you need to be on a AM5 platform if you have not already bought a motherboard....and really how long are you going to keep a 2080ti???

Assuming you're playing at 1080p resolution, the bottleneck point for the 2080 ti is just about set at the i7 9700k according to the numbers I am seeing on the G.N. day 1 review of the Ryzen 3600[gamersnexus.net], so I'd say you might be able to get away with just a Ryzen 5500 or a 12400f depending on if you like A.M.D. or Intel more if you're just playing at 1080p.

Granted, since it's a day one review of an older processor, that's based upon older games, but looking at the system requirements for Monster Hunter Wilds[www.pcgamesn.com] I'm pegging that as about right.

Granted, as their nvidia card the're using a 2070 but the range of hardware listed is a pretty wide sweep, and the 6700 XT is roughly A.M.D's. equivalent to the 2080 Ti, and the 12400f is listed directly in the recommended requirements. Granted, that's 1080p 60 F.P.S. with frame generation on, which is kind of silly but I'm not concerned about the perf. so much as what they're matching. It's a rather wide sweep of components though.

If it weren't for raptor lake oxidation problems, I might suggest a 14100f as a nice $90 choice that usually beats the 9700k. However, as things stand, not knowing which range of processors is affected by the oxidation issue is concerning so we're saying probably not. Oh well.

Any of those processors will work fine because they all support a higher pcie express lane standard (pcie 4.0).

The 2080ti is a pcie 3.0 GPU, so the bus speed of the system surpasses this value.

Pretty much any Zen3 (Ryzen 5000) processor would be fine for a 2080 Ti, it's nothing special nowadays and will almost assuredly be the primary bottleneck for games which is where you want to be, it's better for the GPU to be the bottleneck than the CPU, because at least if the GPU is the bottleneck and your CPU is overkill, you have headroom for performance by upgrading your GPU, whereas if you have a CPU that bottlenecks the 2080 Ti, it's going to pretty heavily diminish future GPU upgrades.

2080 Ti is OLD; my old 3800X had no problems with that GPU.

5700X3D or 5800X3D should be fine even for RTX 50 series; not a problem.

As long as you're on a B550 or X570 motherboard you should be fine.

5700X3D vs 5800X3D real world tests are nearly the same. 5700X3D is a revision and better performance per power ratio. It essentially replaced the 5800XD, which is most countries are never found sold as new anymore, cause they dried up quite a while ago now.

It's not hard to snag a 7800X3D, the issue really is how much the pricing got hiked up.
I bought my 7800X3D for $329. For the last 2 months or so now it's jumped to around $450
